The Duchess of Cambridge has gotten in touch with her six-year-old Scottish pal, a cancer patient named Mila Sneddon, after her mother, Lynda, posted the little girl's video wishing Kate Middleton a happy birthday on Sunday.

As Middleton turned 40 over the weekend, the special girl, who greeted the royal on Twitter, was the only person to get a reply from the future Princess of Wales, according to People.

"Happy Birthday, Catherine!" Mila, who started a sweet friendship with Kate after participating in the Hold Still photography project in 2020, said in the adorable video clip. "I'm so happy you're turning 40. Hope you get nice gifts and love spending time with your family. Bye, lots of love, Mila."

On Monday, Kate and Prince William's official Twitter account would reply to the post, saying, "Thank you, Mila!"

The young patient's mother, Lynda, from Falkirk, would also share on the platform that her daughter had been rushed to hospital over the festive season after contracting COVID-19. Fortunately, the kid has since been discharged to isolate and fully recover at home.

In March 2020, Kate learned through a Zoom call with the child that to protect herself, Mila and her mother had to isolate themselves away from Mila's father, Scott, and sister, Jodi, while she was receiving chemotherapy for acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Her photo, called "Shielding Mila," captured that moment, showing the little girl gazing and waving to her dad from the other side of a window, the Daily Mail reported.

During the call, Kate also learned that Mila's favorite color is pink, something Kate had to bear in mind so when they get to finally meet in person, she would be wearing a pink dress for the six-year-old.

"I have to make sure I go and try to find myself a pink dress," Kate told her at the time.

The year after, Middleton, true to her word, donned a color block skirt dress by Me+Em in bubblegum when the pair met for the first time in May 2021 at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Scotland, Hello! Magazine noted.

The young Sneddon also participated in the Christmas carol concert that Kate hosted at Westminster Abbey in December, where she gave a short reading during the ceremony and caught up with Kate.
