Koenigsegg, the ultimate supercar automaker from Sweden, has finally hit its 100th vehicle mark. A remarkable for the young founder Christian von Koenigsegg, the company celebrated the occasion with the introduction of a specially prepared Koenigsegg, a very special, one-of-a-kind Hundra Agera R super exotic at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
As you might have guessed, the "Hundra" in Koenigsegg Hundra Agera S stands for "100" in Swedish. The Hundra features hand laid carbon fiber with stunning swirled 24- carat gold leaf inlays into the carbon bodywork. In fact, the paint and trim evokes many of the color influences of the iconic black-and-gold John Player Special Lotus racing cars.
Power-wise, the Koenigsegg Hundra Agera S is armed with a handbuilt turbocharged 5.0 liter V8 with an output of 1016 hp. 0-to-100 km/h (62 mph) is complete is a blistering 2.8 seconds.
"A lot has happened in the last 10 years," said Christian von Koenigsegg, reflecting on the rather humble beginnings of the company.
Looking ahead, it will be interesting to see how Koenigsegg will respond to the likes of the Lamborghini Veneno, Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1, and the Porsche 918 Spyder.
"Our team can't even wait to get their creation of passion measured against all the latest and greatest hypercars currently being launched."
