The 2013-2014 Spanish Primera Division season has certainly been an entertaining one and while many fans of the league remain fixated on experiencing an exciting finish, current table leader Atletico Madrid is only focused on capping off a consistent campaign with a championship. Los Rojiblancos finished third behind Barcelona and Real Madrid in last season’s La Liga standings but with three matches remaining this time around, the 2012-2013 Copa del Rey champions are in the driver’s seat, holding a crucial four-point lead over defending champ Barca.

While the two-club race between Atletico and Barcelona continues, Real Madrid -- who will face Atletico in the upcoming UEFA Champions League final -- find themselves six points behind the leaders with four matches to go in the league season. 2013 FIFA Ballon d’Or Award winner Cristiano Ronaldo and company continue to play well on multiple platforms this season and while the team’s current focus is on capturing the May 24 UCL championship at the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon, Los Blancos are still hopeful that season-ending victories along with some help could see them end the fixture schedule as champs.

Though the chase for the top spot is still mathematically open to Atletico, Barca and Los Blancos, the current leaders can seal their place as the No. 1 club with a win this weekend at Levante and losses by Barcelona and Real Madrid, who face Getafe and Valencia respectively. Following their upcoming home contest against Valencia, Real Madrid will battle Real Valladolid and Celta Vigo on the road before wrapping up their fixture slate with a home contest against Espanyol. Second place Barcelona ends their 2013-2014 campaign with the aforementioned home match against Getafe along with match-ups against Elche and a crucial meeting with Atletico Madrid.

Hoping to wrap things up as quickly as possible, Los Rojiblancos will face Levante, Malaga and Barcelona as they conclude what could possibly turn into a championship season.
