Lauren Giraldo has made quite the name for herslef on the social media app Vine. After gaining 2.5 million followers in one year, the Vine phenomenon is now exploring new ways to break into the entertainment industry. It is now being reported that Giraldo is exploring the music industry.

According to Latina, the former Vine star will release her debut single on Friday, January 27th, followed by a killer international tour. The single will be the first from her EP, which is set to release mid-2017. Then, the 18-year-old will hit the road across the U.S. and Canada, starting in February and ending in March.

“I have waited so long to have the opportunity to release my own original music and have poured my heart and soul into creating it," Giraldo said in a statement. "My single is so close to my heart, everything from the lyrics to the artwork is based on personal experiences and I can’t wait to share it. Touring the country and being able to perform for my amazing fans who have supported me for so long is a dream come true.”

While the star is fresh on the scene, she can count on her fans to support her throughout her journey.

The site reports that just last month, news broke that the star would be producing and starring in the short-form digital series Lady Bits with Lauren Giraldo. The actress is currently awaiting the release of the series, which is set to air in January of next year. The show will reportedly focus on gender equality and women's rights.

Although Giraldo knows the risks that comes with having a career within the music industry, she is ready to take it on. As a Latina, she wants to redefine how people view Latinos in the media.

""I feel like there aren’t a lot of shows and stuff for millennials and for like me, who live in America and speak Spanish, but aren’t fully speaking Spanish all the time. So, I’m really excited about it," she explained, referring to her docuseries. The young star also teased her upcoming music and said how excited she was to be releasing songs in the near future. "It’s pretty chill music, but I like to say that’s it’s chill music you can pop your butt to because there’s still like a good beat and a good rhythm," she said.
