Lil Kim is a pioneer setting the tone for women to have a place in the rap industry. While she has had her share of scandals over the years, one of the things people have bashed her for is her ever-changing appearance. After recently sending shockwaves through the industry after discussing her cultural identity, it seems that all the plastic surgery procedures are starting to make sense.

According to Vibe, an unreleased clip from her fanpage has gained traction and has caused many people including Black and Latino women to view the rapper in a different light. In the clip, Lil Kim is discussing her cultural identity with a women in which she admits that she feels like she is a Spanish girl trapped in a Black girl's body.

The clip then switches to the rapper singing a song in Spanish that translates to "Happy come from the mountain of my company, how happy is my friends of the flower of the best” and other inaudible lyrics.

To add salt on the wound, the rapper admitted to Newsweek in 2000 that she is not to fond of her looks due to rejection from men and their desire for women with European features.

“All my life men have told me I wasn’t pretty enough—even the men I was dating…It’s always been men putting me down just like my dad," she told Newsweek in 2000. “To this day when someone says I’m cute, I can’t see it. I don’t see it no matter what anybody says. I have low self-esteem, and I always have. Guys always cheated on me with women who were European-looking. You know, the long-hair type. Really beautiful women that left me thinking, ‘How I can I compete with that?’ Being a regular black girl wasn’t good enough.”

Many people are playing this off as a joke, but with her past comments about her looks and this video being brought to light, its all leading towards the rapper not being comfortable in her own skin and harboring a bit of self-hatred for being a black woman.
