Maluma sure knows how to get everyone’s attention, and how to sell a concept if the rumors turn out to be true. On Tuesday, the Colombian urban star made the headlines after a video of him being violently arrested by the police started gaining social media traffic.

“Maluma will issue a statement about this unfortunate incident this Friday, April 22nd,” reads the caption featured on the video post, which can be found on Royalty World Inc’s official Instagram account.

After the video went public, many of the singer’s fans began sending messages of concern and support. But shortly after, followers started putting two and two together and questioned if this was just a publicity stunt.

The 22-year-old Medellín native took notice of the comments and decided to send his fans a video message explaining they will soon have the answers to all their questions.

“Hey! What’s up friends? I’m sending you all a very special greeting,” the “Desde Esa Noche” performer said. “Thank you for worrying about me. I want to let you all know that I’m fine. Things didn’t go too far in this case. I know this is an alarming situation, but I want you all to be patient, and I will talk about it on Friday.”

He continued, “So, yeah, I’m moving forward with my life and this Friday, I will give as many declarations as I have to on the subject. Sending you a lot of hugs and kisses, and thank you for being there for me. I love you.”

Maluma is scheduled to perform next to J Balvin, Nicky Jam, Farruko, DJ Alex Sensation, Zion, Chacal Y Yakarta and De La Ghetto at the Miami Bash 2016, which will take place at the American Airlines Arena in Miami on Saturday, April 23.
