A man reportedly stabbed his neighbor to death with a pair of scissors in retaliation for assaulting his pet dog in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India on Sunday evening, March 20.

On Sunday, March 20, the victim, identified as 27-year-old Mohammad Mustaqeem, reportedly assaulted his 35-year-old neighbor Chatar Singh’s pet dog after the canine allegedly attacked him. This infuriated Singh and a scuffle subsequently broke out between the two men at around 7 p.m. that night. During the fight, Singh pulled out a pair of scissors and, in a fit of rage, stabbed Mustaqeem with it, Hindustan Times reported.

Following the stabbing, Mohammad Ismail, Mustaqeem’s brother, who witnessed the incident, rushed the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, Mustaqeem, who suffered grievous injuries in the attack, was declared dead upon arrival at the health facility. His body was later transferred to the medical examiner's office for the conduct of an autopsy.

After Mustaqeem's death, Ismail complained to the police about the stabbing. The officers immediately launched an investigation into the incident and arrested Singh on murder charges, Times Now reported.

"We have lodged an FIR (first incident report) under the Indian Penal Code’s Section 302 (murder) at Indirapuram police station against Chatar Singh,” said Gyanendra Kumar Singh, superintendent of police.

In a similar but unrelated incident, a Florida man has been charged with domestic battery after he allegedly threw hot ramen noodles on his roommate following an argument over a dog on Jan. 28, Latin Times reported.

On Friday, Jan. 28, the victim woke up at around 7:20 a.m. and allegedly saw his assailant Brandon Smith, 21, trying to lead his dog onto the bed. However, when she requested him to stop, he reportedly got visibly angry. The suspect proceeded to attack her and douse her with a pot of hot ramen noodles in Fort Pierce, about 20 miles north of Port St. Lucie.

According to the victim's statements, Smith allegedly picked up the pot of searing hot ramen noodles off the stove and threw the contents on her. After drenching her with the simmering broth, he then struck her “on the back with the hot pot."

Authorities rushed to the scene after they were phoned by the alleged victim claiming that “Smith would not stop” attacking her.

When officers took Smith into custody and questioned him, the suspect claimed that the violent episode was just an accident. According to Smith, on the day of the incident, he woke up and “began making a pot of ramen noodles.” He said that the victim accidentally fell on top of the hot ramen noodles placed on the stove while she was chasing the dog around the room.
