Man Raped Elderly Woman's Corpse After Savagely Bludgeoning Her To Death

A Pune man was arrested on Monday for allegedly bludgeoning his 75-year-old neighbor to death and sexually assaulting her dead body.

The incident took place in the Chakan village of Pune, India. The elderly woman's semi-naked body was found at her residence lying in a pool of blood on Monday. The police revealed that the woman was sexually assaulted before and after she was murdered.

Anil Waghmare, 52, the woman’s neighbor, was arrested in connection with the brutal killing shortly after. According to The Times of India, police investigations revealed that he was last seen near the woman's residence on Monday.

The police reportedly received a tip and used a trained dog squad to track him down. During the initial interrogation, Waghmare immediately confessed to his involvement in the murder.

Waghmare was reportedly aware that the elderly woman stayed alone in her house. On Monday, he allegedly went to the woman's home with the intention of sexually assaulting her. When she resisted, he used a blowpipe to bludgeon her to death. Waghmare then sexually assaulted the woman's dead body and fled, reported Times Now.

Waghmare has been arrested on charges of sexual assault, murder, and house-trespass to commit an offense, reported Hindustan Times. If convicted of all three crimes, he faces imprisonment for life.

“While questioning the neighbors, we got the information that the suspect was seen near the woman’s house on Monday. During questioning, he admitted his involvement in the murder,” law enforcement said in a statement.

The police have discovered the metal blowpipe that Waghmare may have used to murder the victim, Catch News reports.

In another shocking but unrelated incident, a Pune woman allegedly killed her mother-in-law by strangling her with a blouse earlier this month. The woman reportedly proceeded to stuff the matriarch's body into a burlap sack and disposed of it with the help of her husband.

The accused and her husband initially hid the dead body on the rooftop of their home before later moving the remains to a nearby wooded area. The woman and her husband were arrested after the police confirmed CCTV footage showing the couple lugging the bag from which the victim’s body would later be found.
