Manchester United star Mason Greenwood is scheduled to face a court bail hearing on June 23, as the investigation continues following his arrest.

Greenwood will have his bail application heard in closed court next week after he was arrested on Jan. 30 on suspicion of raping and assaulting a woman.

An investigation regarding the allegations is still ongoing. Greater Manchester Police reportedly applied to the courts in order to extend his bail. According to Daily Mail, the hearing is scheduled at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court for June 23. The media and public will not be permitted to attend. Greenwood, 20, is also not expected to be present.

The footballer was arrested in January after police received a report about photos and videos uploaded online from a woman reporting incidents of physical violence.

The England player was initially held on suspicion of rape and assault but was then rearrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill. Greenwood spent three nights in police custody before he was bailed. In April, the police confirmed they continued investigating the allegations and would seek to have Greenwood's bail extended, but a court hearing would not be scheduled until mid-June. Meanwhile, United have officially confirmed that Greenwood would not be available for selection.

He is also not allowed to attend training with his teammates until further notice. A club statement read, "We are aware of images and allegations circulating on social media. We will not make any further comment until the facts have been established. Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind."

Nike, among Greenwood's major sponsors, also terminated its endorsement agreement with Greenwood after stating that it was "deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations."

Greenwood was spotted in public in early April — first time since his arrest. He was seen driving a black Mercedes around Cheshire while wearing a Cartier balaclava.

Greenwood is an academy product originally from Bradford, West Yorks. His last appearance for the Man Utd came in a 1-0 win against West Ham on Jan. 22. Greenwood has scored 22 goals in his 83 appearances for United.
