While the winter addition of Juan Mata certainly lifted the overall talent of Manchester United along the midfield line, first-year boss David Moyes and Old Trafford higher-ups remain in the market for addition help moving forward. With an excess of funds set to become available during the upcoming summer transfer period, United officials will undoubtedly be looking to land multiple high-profile players as they look to rebound from what has certainly been a forgettable 2013-2014 campaign on multiple levels. Midfield remains a high priority for the defending Barclays Premier League champs and although the signing of Mata from Chelsea will serve well down the road, the Red Devils seem ready to jump into numerous outlets in order to land top-level talent.

According to ESPN FC, David Moyes – who took over for legendary United boss Sir Alex Ferguson over the summer – is highly interested in Bayern Munich star Toni Kroos even though the 24-year-old remains under contract with the defending UEFA Champions League winners until 2015. Kroos has been heavily linked with a move from the German Bundesliga to the English Premier League on multiple occasions but after the German National star spoke at a recent UCL press conference concerning his future, the young midfielder left open the possibility that he could make a major move this summer.

“A lot of things have been written. But not a lot has changed,” he said. “No decision has been made, and no agreements have been reached. It’ll stay like this until the summer, then a decision will be made. It is no secret that the Premier League is an interesting league. It is certainly not only about the money, that would not be my character. Of course, I’d have to lie if I was to say that it is not also about the money. There is no date when a decision on my contract will be made as well.”

Kroos has been asked about his contract in the past by reporters but because he remains fixated on helping Germany succeed at the upcoming World Cup in Brazil, the Bayern mid says he'll worry about his financial status when the situation best presents itself.

For now, he'll continue to help the Bundesliga giants perform at a high level while also preparing for the summer tournament, which opens for Germany on Monday, June 16 against Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal.
