Margarito Esparza died this week after falling ill with pneumonia. His death created controversy as the comic had uploaded a photo of himself with the hospital staff that did not sit well with social media users.
Many reprimanded the fact that the workers were more interested in taking a pic with the star than attending his health. Hospital Regional De ISSSTE in Puebla has now issued an apology and will take action against the employees for "inappropriate conduct" during the time.
Esparza died at the age of 80 on Sunday night. The death of the comedian was confirmed by Juan Alberto Cardona, who worked with the actor.
"He has left us," Cardona said according to Milenio. "He was in Puebla because we were doing presentations at the fair, he got wet in the rain and he wasn't taken care of. On Saturday they informed us that he had been hospitalized with pneumonia. He got two heart attacks last night but he became stable, but today his health deteriorated and he died."
Ezparza died at Hospital Regional De ISSSTE in Puebla between the hours of 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. Services will take place in Mazatlan and he will be buried in San Ignacio, Sinaloa.
The actor tweeted that he saw imminent death. He also posted photos of himself in the hospital, taking photos with personnel. His last tweet was on Saturday when he wrote: "I am in bad health. I don't know what will happen tomorrow."
