The Marvel Cinematic Universe has a lot in store for 2022, too much that there could be highly-anticipated premieres not happening.

Two of them are notable ones: “Secret Invasion” and the second season of “What If?”

But the thing is that a post put up on the Marvel Japan website has gotten most expecting a “What If?” rollout happening in 2022. This is aside from other films such as “Moon Knight,” “She-Hulk,” “I Am Groot” and “Ms. Marvel.”

The aforementioned Marvel titles have been confirmed for 2022 but a second season of “What If?” is not included. A reason for this is perhaps because it was only confirmed during Disney Day 2021.

The same holds for “Secret Invasion” which is anticipated to be premiering this year. But if one is to refer to the graphics, there was no mention of it coming out this year. All it had was “Coming Soon on Disney+.”

But between the two, coming out with the second season of the animated “What If?” could make more sense. For one, its animated format means that stars can just record their lines and the production team can take it from there.

Further, the first season ended with a twist, spurring the belief that a second season is merited. But the only question is when will that be?

With so much lined up for Marvel Studios, the safest way to approach it is that “What If?” season 2 is happening. The only thing is that a premiere date has yet to be made.

2022 appears to be a busy year so it will be interesting if a “What If?” season 2 would be happening.

“Secret Invasion” started production in late 2021 and the earliest it may come out is by late 2022. It will be part of Phase Four of the MCU.
