Despite rumors of a rift between the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, have apparently become closer over one thing - motherhood! Baby Archie is said to be the bridge between the two women, proving to many that they can certainly get along or that the supposed rivalry between them was never true at all.

A source revealed to CNN that prior to Baby Archie's arrival, the two were civil with one another, exchanging text messages when needed. However, after Markle gave birth to Baby Archie in May 2019, the two women had apparently become closer, bonding over motherhood. The strengthened relationship was demonstrated on King Power Royal Charity Polo Day.

Not only was it the first time Markle brought Baby Archie out to watch his dad and uncle play, but it was also the first time that the Sussexes and Cambridges were seen together at a public event since May. Middleton was also at the venue with her three children, George, Charlotte, and Louis.

The rumored rift between the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex first came to light when the Sussexes moved out of Kensington Palace and established their own office. It was later explained that it was because the Middletons needed their own household and the Sussexes wanted more independence.

Whether this was merely a strategy to dispel rumors of the rift, the two ladies were again seen out and about at the Wimbledon lady’s tennis final. Here, the strengthened relationship was made even more apparent when the two were seen laughing and chatting.

Down the road, Baby Archie may need his auntie Kate to grow up 'healthy' in the public eye. People magazine claimed Markle was starting to buckle under the intensity of the spotlight. Kate, who had undergone the same thing a few years back, can give the actress turned royalty some pointers on how to raise a kid in the public eye but be as private as possible.
