Costume Institute Gala and also known as the Met Ball or Met Gala, celebrated the annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City.

As every year the celebrities came to the event with their best outfits, hairstyles and makeup, generally according to the event theme, that includes a cocktail hour and a formal dinner. This year was chosen "Rei Kawakubo / Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between," honoring the Japanese fashion designer based in Tokyo and Paris, Rei Kawakubo.

The Met Gala theme not only sets the tone for the annual exhibit, but also for the guests who attempt to dress to uphold the theme of the year.

As always, in each event there will be cases in which we will find good looks, Avant-Garde looks and others that are so absurd, that fashion enthusiasts and connoisseurs will be talking about them. Some celebrities who gave a lot to talk, but in the good sense of the word, for their makeup and perfect hairstyle were Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively, Serena Williams, Courtney Love, Karlie Kloss and Brie Larson. Their stylists shared the step by step of how to achieve their looks at home with super affordable products.

  1. To prep Jennifer’s skin, Scott applied L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Bright Reveal Brightening Day Moisturizer SPF 30 evenly all over the face.
  2. To get her iconic sculpted face, he began by lightly applying the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Contour Palette along the jawline, the hollow part of her cheekbone , and the temples of her forehead. Then he applied L'Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation using the L'Oréal Paris Infallible Blend Artist Foundation Blender. He then lightly re-contoured her face.
  3. Next, to brighten her under eyes, Scott carefully applied the purple shade from the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Total Cover Color Correcting Kit.
  4. Then, Scott began to create a bronze/burgundy look using L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Pocket Palette Eye Shadow in Boudoir Charme. He used the chocolate brown shade for the cut crease and rimmed it underneath the eye. Using a big eyeshadow brush, he swiped the golden brown shade and applied it all over the lid. To complete the look, he used the copper brown color in the inner corner of the eye and lifted it towards the top of the brown, to give the eye warmth.

ARTIST : Kristofer Buckle (@KristoferBuckle) for L’Oréal Paris.

INSPIRATION : We decided to keep Blake’s makeup soft with a touch of gold. We didn’t want to go too heavy with the makeup since her Versace gown made such a statement…something heavy would be too theatrical. Instead, we went for bronze-tone makeup – both on the eyes and on the face.

  1. To prep Blake’s skin, Kristofer used L'Oréal Paris Hydra Genius Moisturizer for a dewy canvas. To even out her complexion, he applied L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup in Shell Beige with a wet L’Oréal Paris Infallible Blend Artist Foundation Blender.
  2. To contour, Kristofer used the L'Oréal Paris Infallible Total Cover Concealing and Contour Kit. Next, Kristofer took the Visible Lift Blur Concealer in Light to brighten the area and accentuate the bronzed look. For Blake’s soft, rosy-tone cheeks, Kristofer used the L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blush in Peach Gold Lift.
  3. To add more definition to Blake’s cheeks and also give them a stand-out glow, Kristofer applied the L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator in Rose.
  4. Then for Blake’s eyes, Kristofer used the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Paints Eye Shadow in Nude Fishnet over the entire lid as a cream base. Then, he gently padded on top the copper shade found in the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude. Next, he applied L’Oréal Paris Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner in Gold in the inner corner of the eyes and inside of the eyes for a bright, pure gold effect.
  5. To make the eyes pop even more, Kristofer applied the L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Mascara in Black/Brown to Blake’s bottom and top lashes.
  6. For Blake’s soft brows, Kristofer used L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Definer Pencil in Blonde and drew them in gently.
  7. To finish the look, Kristofer applied the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss in Bare Attraction softly to the lips.

ARTIST : Mara Roszak (@mararoszak), L'Oréal Paris Celebrity Hair Stylist (@ LOrealHair )

INSPIRATION : This look was all about being creative and getting a bit weird. The artistic look complimented Brie’s rad Chanel dress which added an element of structure.”

  1. Mara began by washing Brie’s hair with L’Oreal Paris EverSleek Keratin Caring Shampoo and Conditioner.
