A meth-addict mother from Phoenix, Arizona was charged on Tuesday with three counts of murder after smothering her three children to death on Monday night. The authorities discovered the bodies of her children, aged three, one, and seven months, inside their home that same day.

The mother, 22-year-old Rachel Henry, was quick to own up to her crime and detailed to the police how she had killed her two daughters and son. According to Henry, she started smothering her one-year-old daughter by holding her hands over her nose and mouth and singing her lullabies as she watched her die. She said her daughter kept kicking out at her but stopped moving after a while.

After confirming the death of her one-year-old, she smothered her three-year-old son. Henry recounted how her only son kept screaming “no” as he witnessed how she smothered her little sister to death. The young boy also reportedly tried to punch, pinch and scratch his mom while he was being smothered but he also succumbed to death minutes later.

Henry also admitted that he killed her little boy while some of their relatives were inside their home. After killing her girl, she left her body at the back of their house and started running after her son. When the children’s father and another relative suddenly arrived, she immediately got hold of her son, took him upstairs and pretended that she would put him to bed. He killed the boy while their two relatives were sitting down inside their living room.

Meanwhile, Henry said she killed her seven-month-old girl by putting her to sleep and smothering her afterwards. She said she gave her a bottle to feed first and when she fell asleep, she killed her.

Relatives of the suspect said there was no clear motive for Henry’s murders, but they told the police that Henry had been acting strange days before she murdered her children. They also revealed that Henry had been a meth addict for a long time and that her children had previously been removed from their home because of her addiction.

Henry is currently being held on a $3 million bond.
