A Wisconsin bakery got creative to catch the person who stole cash and equipment from the store last month. The owners of the Canfora Bakery in Milwaukee said that the suspect broke into the store on April 19.

He was caught on security camera, reported New York Post. Earlier this month, the bakers created an icing image of the person on sugar cookies, and urged customers to take a "bite out of crime."

“We made delicious sugar cookies with his image on them! We invite the Bay View community to come on in and take a bite out of the thief while supplies last,” the bakery wrote in a post on its Facebook page. “If you recognize this man, please call the Milwaukee PD.”

The incident took place around midnight on April 19 when a man broke into the bakery and stole items, said Karen Krieg, who owns the bakery along with her husband Eric, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported. "We decided to make the best of it and see if the community could identify him," she added.

After taking a photo of the man from the footage, they printed it on edible paper. The image was used on eight dozen sugar cookies that were frosted with buttercream and decorated with sugar.

The Milwaukee Police Department asked the public to help in identifying the man and locating the suspect. The police described the suspect as a Caucasian male, who was last seen wearing a knit beanie, dark jacket and dark pants.

A follow-up post revealed that the suspect was identified. "He has been identified! Thank you to everyone who responded," read the post.

Many Facebook users praised the bakery owners for coming up with this unique idea. One wrote, "I have heard of wanted pictures put on pizza boxes, but I have never heard of a perp's picture being put on baked goods. Very creative in that aspect." Others felt sorry for what happened at the bakery.

The Kriegs bought the bakery from the Canforas in 2017. It is popular for its ham and rolls, "bigger than your face" doughnuts and sub sandwiches, Krieg said.
