Nastassja Bolívar was the beauty queen that won Univision's "Nuestra Belleza Latina" talent show in 2011. Bolívar went on to win Miss Nicaragua in 2013 and represent her home country at the Miss Universe 2013 pageant as well. Nastassja placed in the Top 16 and even won for Best National Costume during a preliminary competition. Now the model is involved in a scandal that has the Miss Nicaragua Organization accusing her of breach of contract which can possibly lead to a trial. Karen Celebertti, director of the organization, made it official when she released a statement that would strip Bolívar from all her duties representing Nicaragua.

The press release states that the beauty queen broke ties with a modeling agency before going to Russia, that owns the Miss Universe franchise in Nicaragua. Natassja is also being accused of not giving the money to the organization that she won for the national costume contest. Bolívar's mother has reacted to the scandal and says, "Dear friends and countrymen. I will be sending out an official statement under my name, clearing point by point Karen Celebertti and the Miss Nicaragua Organization's allegations. On behalf of myself and my family I thank you all for your interest in clearing up this situation and finally speak the truth."

Nastassja Bolívar also released a statement where says that with "honor and dignity I made my best to represent everyone with love and respect" during the Miss Universe pageant. "With our without a crown," she would continue supporting causes that will benefit her country of Nicaragua. "Unfortunately the Miss Nicaragua Organization does not wish for me to crown the next beauty queen, I respect their rights and I am only left with wishing the new Miss Nicaragua 2014 success. It is my wish to focus on the positive and continue the search of my personal and professional goals, but I will always have my country in my heart."
