Willi Castro hits a triple in Twins' win over ChiSox MLB.com/Twins

SEATTLE - The Puerto Rican Willi Castro played a key role in the Minnesota Twins comeback win against the Chicago White Sox on May 1. A homer shy of hitting for the cycle, Castro finished the game 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, an RBI, a run scored and even added a stolen base as the Twins won their 10th straight game, the longest active streak in the Majors.

Castro has been enjoying his game during the Twins' unbeaten streak, averaging .457 (16-for-35) over that stretch. Due to the injury of third baseman Royce Lewis, Castro has been moving around covering third base but his offensive output hasn't suffered because of this. The Puerto Rican has two homers, 13 runs scored, 12 RBI and three stolen bases serving as the team's primary third baseman.

Offensively, he has been one of the brightest spots for the Twins this season, leading the team in hits (27) and doubles (8) and his splits of .270/.339/.450 are his best since his second season in the Majors with Detroit in 2020.

His three-hit game against the White Sox was his third such game this season, equaling his tally from 2023. The Puerto Rican now has six multi-hit games this year and the Twins have won every single one of those games.
