Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers is injured again and will reportedly be out for two weeks.

The 28-year-old Lakers center suffered a right ankle injury in the first half of the Lakers win over the Utah Jazz. Davis accidentally landed on the heel of Rudy Gobert and was left grimacing in pain.

Davis underwent x-rays at the Crypto.com Arena where it was found that he had no fracture. However, the All-Star player will still undergo an MRI and will be re-evaluated after the All-Star break, ESPN reported.

"I hope he's fine. Obviously, I mean, I know he's not like, great, but obviously his health is most important for him individually, for our ballclub. I've seen [teammates get injured] too many times, obviously. So I just wish him the best," Lakers teammate LeBron James said.

It becomes the latest debacle for the Lakers who have been struggling with most of their players in sickbay. But the good news is that Davis may miss only three games.

The Lakers play the Los Angeles Clippers on Feb. 25, the New Orleans Pelicans on Feb. 27, the Dallas Mavericks on Mar. 1 and the Clippers again on Mar. 3, all at the Crypto.com Arena.

If the forecasted two-week is followed this is the likely scenario, meaning Davis may not be back until Mar. 5 when Los Angeles hosts the Golden State Warriors.

Hence, Lakers coach Frank Vogel needs to find a way to hold up the fort anew without the prized big man. It is not a surprising scenario considering Davis has missed a total of 17 games already this season for the Lakers.

"It would have been easy to fold the tent and give in and let go of the rope as Utah was making their run, knowing that we just lost AD," Vogel said. "Hopefully this game will be a lesson of what the big picture looks like for our team: Overcoming this type of adversity."
