NBC aired episode 5 of “Telenovela” on Monday night. The episode, titled “The Rivals,” follows Ana (Eva Longoria), Xavi (Jencarlos Canela) and the rest of the cast of “Las Leyes” in a face off against the cast of a rival telenovela at a charity event. The cast rallies around Ana and Xavi as they try to finally one up their rivals, Kate (Kate del Castillo) and Diego (Carlos Ponce), while building a home for a needy family.

The hilarious episode comes at a time when Del Castillo is reportedly being investigated after a Rolling Stone’s article revealed a possible relationship between the actress and “the most wanted man in the world,” Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán. Mexican Authorities confirmed the liaison by releasing private conversations the parties involved held via Blackberry Messenger from September 25, 2015 to November 9, 2015.

On Wednesday night, after almost a week of making the headlines, the 43-year-old telenovela star finally addressed the issue on social media, “Thank you for your support over the past days,” reads the statement posted on her personal Twitter page. “Not surprisingly, many have chosen to make up items they think will make good stories and that aren’t truthful. I look forward to sharing my story with you.”

Several sources have pointed to a possible film project in the works that will include Hollywood star Sean Penn, who was the mastermind behind the Rolling Stone Magazine’s piece, Del Castillo, Guzmán, and other celebrities that are mentioned in the published text messages but whose names have yet to be exposed.
