Sorry to inform you, but your team was a big loser this week.
Your team couldn’t hold a lead. Maybe they blew the game in the fourth quarter. Whatever the case, it’s a week you’re going to want to forget.
Here are the top five biggest losers from Week 6.
1. Indianapolis Colts
The Colts simply can’t be trusted anymore. There was a time when the Colts won an NFL record 15 consecutive games against the AFC South, but now they can’t even win divisional games. Their loss to the Houston Texans puts them in a 2-4 hole; good enough for last place in the division. If the Colts can’t beat the Texans without J.J. Watt, they’re in big trouble.
2. Atlanta Falcons
What an ending in Seattle. It sure looked like Richard Sherman was in violation of a pass interference on that final play against Julio Jones, but the officials felt different. The Falcons absolutely destroyed the Seahawks in the third quarter winning by a 21-0 margin, but they couldn’t keep the momentum going. The Falcons are still 4-2, but this was a tough loss to swallow, and the schedule doesn’t get much easier from here.
3. Philadelphia Eagles
Maybe Eagles fans anointed Carson Wentz a little too early. The Eagles offense fell absolutely flat on Sunday not scoring a single touchdown. It’s amazing they only lost by seven points considering the circumstances. Based on strength of schedule, the Eagles have the toughest remaining games left to play. This is going to be a tough test for the Eagles.
4. Carolina Panthers
With this loss the Panthers are officially done. Their season is over. At 1-5, the Panthers simply can’t recover from all of the mistakes, blown leads, and defensive blunders. The Panthers should consider making a few moves before the NFL trade deadline, possibly for a cornerback. Who would have thought the Panthers would be in the running for the No. 1 overall draft pick?
5. Cincinnati Bengals
A 3-3 record is a heck of a lot different than 2-4. That is of course if the Bengals would have held on to beat the New England Patriots on Sunday. But they didn’t. The Bengals have an enormous challenge in front of them to catch the Pittsburgh Steelers, and yet again Vontaze Burfict was the subject of more illegal activity on the field. Maybe Marvin Lewis’ time in Cincinnati really is coming to an end.
