Back in 2010 Nike filed a patent on the self-lacing sneakers from the movie “Back to the Future II.” And back in 2011 the sportswear company actually manufactured a pair of Nike MAG’s for a charity auction, giving sneaker freaks a chance to wear the same kicks as Marty McFly. However, those shoes lacked one major feature from the film. The ability to tighten around the wearer’s feet and self-lace! Well, now it seems that the iconic Power Laces will finally arrive in 2015.

While it was rumored that the company would soon make another pair of Marty McFly’s with the power laces Nike designer Tinker Hatfield has now said it is happening for real. At an appearance at the Jordan Brand’s Flight Lab Hatfield said, "Are we gonna see Power Laces in 2015? To that, I say yes!," If you recall from “Back to the Future II” the Nike MAG’s were all the rage in 2015, so this news that the kicks will be releasing next year lines up perfectly.

Since Hatfield’s statement fans have flocked to the internet wanting more news but Nike has yet to comment or confirm the news yet. While hoverboards seems a bit off from public release power laces don’t seem that outlandish in comparison. If they are to arrive next year, you better start saving your pennies now seeing how the 2011 Marty McFly’s were a couple of thousand bucks and are currently on sale on eBay for $8,000.
