The New York City Police Department (NYPD) has launched an extensive manhunt for a man dubbed the "McBandit," accused of robbing a string of McDonald's branches and other convenience stores in the South Bronx area in the span of two months.

The perpetrator's burglary spree reportedly started on April 20 at around 11:30 p.m when the suspect walked into a McDonald’s store at 279 East 149 Street in the South Bronx and forcibly moved a female staff's hand to steal $52 from the register, according to Fox News.

A few days later, on April 26, the same man allegedly robbed a McDonald’s store at 925 Hunts Point Avenue in the Foxhurst neighborhood. The "McBandit" reportedly threatened a 31-year-old female staff member at the counter during the robbery and took off with $109 from the register.

Less than a week later, the suspect pulled off his third robbery, targeting a Family Dollar store located at 1315 Boston Road in the Bronx’s Morrisania neighborhood. Similar to his previous robbery tactics, he pulled a knife on a 24-year-old female employee and threatened her before proceeding to swipe some $219 from the store register, according to FOX 5 New York.

A few days later, on May 8 at around 2 p.m., continuing his string of robberies, the suspect robbed yet another Dollar Tree store located at 250 East 144 Street in the South Bronx, again using threats of violence to steal about $450 from the Dollar Tree register before fleeing the scene.

In the next burglary, his fifth in the robbery spree, the "McBandit" on June 10, at around 7:20 a.m., reportedly entered a Mcdonald's store located at 1600 Boston Road in Charlotte Gardens and took off with $100, Polish News reported.

On June 14, the suspect committed his latest in the string of robberies, targeting yet another McDonald’s located at 2870 3rd Avenue around 1 a.m. During the robbery, he pulled a knife on a 30-year-old male employee at the counter and stole $105 from the register.

The NYPD has released images of the suspect obtained from CCTV surveillance footage hoping that someone would recognize the suspect and tip them off on his whereabouts.
