Less than two weeks before the general elections, President Obama will take his campaign to late night and sit down with "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" for third time during his presidency.

The president is scheduled to chat with Leno on Wednesday, Oct. 24. "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" airs on NBC and starts at 11:35 p.m.

Obama is expected "to discuss the home stretch of the campaign."

Obama is no stranger to the show's couch - NBC said this is his fifth appearance on the show. His first was in 2007. First Lady Michelle Obama made her third appearance on The Tonight Show in August.

Obama, no stranger to late night, has been on CBS' "Late Show With David Letterman" last month, and chatted with Jon Stewart on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" last week.

Mitt Romney has not been on any of the late-night talk shows since he became the GOP presidential nominee, but his wife, Ann, appeared on "The Tonight Show" last month.

At a fundraiser that was secretly recorded, an audience member told Romney that people would see him in a "different light" if he appeared on talk-shows more.

"Regis is gone," Romney said. "I've done the night, the evening shows. I've been on Letterman a couple of times. I've been on Leno more than a couple times, and now Letterman hates me because I've been on Leno more than him. They're very jealous of one another as you know. And there's, I was asked to go on Saturday Night Live. I did not do that, in part because you want to show that you're fun and you're a good person, but you also want to be presidential. And Saturday Night Live has the potential of looking slapstick and not presidential."

Romney and his wife on appeared on Live with Kelly and Michael earlier this month. They were both scheduled to appear on The View, but Mitt cancelled and sent Ann alone.
