Pancho the Sea Lion likes to hang out in the waters off Cabo San Lucas off the coast of Baja California Mexico. The playful sea lion has become a welcomed sight down at the docks in Cabo and fishermen are used to seeing him hang around. Local fishermen know to guard their catch when Pancho is around. One fisherman did not heed the advice of others and ended up losing his catch, a large Mahi Mahi. While two of the local fishermen where showing off their prizes for an upcoming episode of "Chef on the Water" Pancho decided he was in the mood for a mid-afternoon snack.

In a YouTube video uploaded in early October we see the two fishermen laughing, smiling and showing off their large fish. Unaware that they are being watched by more than the camera, the men don't realize Pancho is looking to make a catch of his own. Rather than spend the time hunting for his own food Pancho decided that the fisherman's catch was just what he needed to satisfy his hunger. While the two men are smiling for the camera Pancho leaps out of the water, grabs the fish by the tail and slips back into the sea in one swift move.

The two men are left standing on the boat, one still holding his fish the other in disbelief as to what just happened. Sea Lions are usually seen hunting for their food and not known for their thieving skills. You can also catch a glimpse of sea lions basking in the sun along the piers in San Francisco. Apparently Pancho likes having humans do all the work for him. He is known around the area as an adorable little thief. Now that his antics have been caught on camera the fish stealing marine mammal has also stolen the spot light.

Sea lions are not the only marine creatures that like to snag a fisherman's catch. Two friends posted a video to YouTube of them trying to catch a few fish. While the men were carrying on a conversation a killer whale swam up and grabbed one of the men's fish from off his line, then disappeared back into the water. Guess it is a good idea to buy your fish at the market in order to avoid other sea creatures who want to eat your lunch!
