Season 5 of “Pretty Little Liars” hasn’t genuinely answered any of fans questions following the murder of Mona, arrest of Alison, and apparent reemergence of “A,” for that reason we are hoping that episode 16 ties up some loose ends, or at least makes the murky plotlines of PLL a little bit more clear. The episode titled “Over a Barrel” seems to have a literal meaning or at least that’s what the promo video wants fans to believe. The video is especially thrilling with Spencer and Caleb teaming up to investigate a clue left by the one and only Mona! But despite fans desires, Mona has not made a miraculous recovery, but she is speaking form the grave with a previously programmed text message- talk about insurAnce! From what we can gather from the short promo video, Caleb reveals that he thinks Mona’s body has been hidden in a steel barrel, but before he can confirm his suspicions, “A” arrives on scene.  But maybe the episode title “Over a Barrel” gives fans a better clue, as opposed to Caleb’s thoughts that Mona is inside the barrel, maybe he needs to just peer over it for a real clue!

The synopsis for “Over a Barrel” reveals that while Caleb and Spencer may think they have a break in the “A” case, it seems that their gains are coming at a price. The synopsis states, “Secrets are hard to keep, especially when you are keeping them from a loved one. Spencer searches for Mona’s missing laptop with Caleb’s help but where the search leads them could cross the “Toby approved” line.” Hopefully Mona’s missing laptop will connect some of the dots for the Liars, however it may not help them navigate their future. The synopsis reveals that Aria “tries to get up the courage to come clean to Ezra” about her lack of college admissions, however she gets distracted by a supposed “wild goose chase.” Secrets are plaguing all of the Liars with Hanna “having to cover Ashley’s secret when Pastor Ted returns with big news.” In the midst of this unfolding chaos, Emily is grappling with the demise of her relationship after Paige moved away from Rosewood.
