Meghan Markle might have gone no-holds-barred in her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey that aired earlier this month. And, unsurprisingly, it’s already bearing (catastrophic) dividends.

As per a recent report on PEOPLE, Markle’s revelations about being subjected to covert racism within the royal family have left Prince Charles feeling more “let down” than livid. The former “Suits” actor categorically mentioned how there allegedly were “concerns and conversations about how dark [Archie's] skin might be when he's born” within the Buckingham Palace.

“The prince believes in diversity and his actions show that,” said a source, as cited in the report. “He was the first person to highlight the Windrush generation [the first mass immigration from the Caribbean to the U.K. in the 1950s] and the contributions they made to British society.

He has worked hard for the Muslim community. Of all the members of the royal family, he has taken this issue the most seriously,” added the source, hinting at how the controversial claims made by Markle on the show are sure to widen the gap in the already strained relationship of Prince Charles and Harry.

While the Duchess did not drop names, Oprah later cleared the air and stated that the reference was neither made to Queen Elizabeth or Prince Philip.

Things have been far from smooth between Prince Harry, 36, and Prince William, 38, as far as sustaining a healthy relationship with their father is concerned.

“It's not a straightforward father-son relationship,” said a palace source, further adding, “He is their father and their boss, and they are beholden to him to fund their offices and lives.”

Amid the claims, Harry also opened up about how Prince Charles began to avoid the Duke, post couple's decision to step down as senior royals. Despite it all, Harry seemed to be empathetic towards his father, and clearly accepts things for what it is.

“I feel really let down because he's been through something similar. He knows what pain is like,” said Harry. “And Archie's his grandson. Of course, I will always love him, but there's a lot of hurts that's happened. And I will continue to make it one of my priorities to try and heal that relationship.”

The explosive remarks have raised concerns in the mind of the Queen, who is reportedly disturbed by the “racism” allegations. More so because she fears the claims affecting the Commonwealth.

Samantha Markle, Meghan’s half-sibling recently went on air to slam the Duchess for causing incorrigible damage to the British royal family.
