Prince Philip is reportedly a huge fan of Meghan Markle. The Duke of Edinburgh developed a fondness for Prince Harry’s wife after he learned one important detail about her.

In the Channel 5 documentary “Meghan Markle: Movies, Marriage, & Motherhood,” royal author Katie Nicholl revealed how Prince Philip became instantly fascinated with the “Suits” alum after he learned how well read the duchess is. Meghan has now found a true fan in Queen Elizabeth II’s husband.

Meghan gave the public a glimpse of her bond with Prince Philip after she gave birth to her son, Archie. Two days after the infant’s birth, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex introduced their son to the entire world. Meghan revealed that they just bumped into Prince Philip a few minutes before they faced the press.

The Duchess of Sussex said that bumping into Prince Philip in the corridors of Windsor Castle was just a very sweet moment. Prince Philip also has a close relationship with Prince Harry. Last year, reports claimed that the Duke of Sussex rushed his marriage to Meghan to make sure that Prince Philip would be able to attend.

The Duke of Edinburgh underwent hip surgery last year, and he had just recovered when he attended the royal wedding at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018.

Meanwhile, the dad of four is not the only member of the royal family who has been impressed with the former Hollywood star. According to Nicholl, Her Majesty was also drawn to Meghan after Prince Harry introduced the two to each other. This is the reason why the Queen invited Meghan to attend the royal family’s Christmas celebration even before she and Prince Harry tied the knot.

“I was told that the Queen’s feeling was this: ‘She is preparing to give everything up for her grandson. Her career, her nationality, her home in Toronto … Everything to be with Harry,’” Nicholl said.
