Rob Kardashian entered a plea of not guilty on Wednesday to charges of misdemeanor battery and petty theft after allegedly hitting a female photographer outside a gym in Los Angeles. The incident occurred in March when the weight-challenged reality T.V. star was caught shirtless on camera in a parking garage in Beverly Hills.

According to photographer Andra Viak, Kardashian struck the paparazzo in the face and left contusions on her arm and chest. He then violently ripped the memory card from her camera in an effort to destroy the topless pics. Viak is claiming the card was worth $30,000, having contained 1,200 celebrity pictures and approximately 300 freelance photos.

Kardashian, who is being represented by star attorney Robert Shapiro (Shapiro worked with Kardashian's late father on the O.J. Simpson murder case in the early 90s), accused Viak of following him from his gym near La Cienga Boulevard and Melrose Avenue and trespassing onto private property in order to take the photographs. Legal counsel for the photographer responded, saying, "While this case is still in the preliminary stage, it is clear from our investigation that Robert Kardashian's violent behavior and his use of force towards Ms. Viak was completely unjustified."

Prosecutors asked that bail for Kardashian be set at $21,000, however, L.A. County Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel (one of several judges whom Lindsay Lohan has appeared before) allowed the 26-year-old to remain free on his own recognizance.
