‘Roswell, New Mexico’ Season 2 Avoided Cancelation: Here Are The Renewal Details

“Roswell, New Mexico” has been renewed by The CW in April. The renewal came shortly after the show’s first season concluded, and it will be returning alongside other popular series of the network, including “Riverdale,” “Arrow” and “All American.”

The show is a TV adaptation of Melinda Metz’s book novel of the same title. The sci-fi romance series tells the story of alien beings living among humans. But except for a few, most people on earth are clueless about their existence.

“Roswell, New Mexico” debuted in January, and it immediately gained lots of followers. As per The Hollywood Reporter, the drama was the most-watched among the list of newcomers on The CW network, and it has picked up almost two million viewers.

The Cast

The show stars Jeanine Mason as Liz Otecho, a biomedical researcher who traveled back to her hometown and found that a lot has changed since she left the place a decade ago. Nathan Parsons plays as an alien on the show named Max Evans. Michael Vlamis also plays as an alien called Michael Guerin. Lily Cowles, on the other hand, is a female alien named Isobel Evans-Bracken.

Tyler Blackburn is expected to return as Alex Manes, while Heather Hemmens will still be Maria DeLuca, the bartender in the sci-fi series. Michael Trevino (Dr. Kyle Valenti) and Trevor St. John (Chief Sgt. Jesse Manes) will also be in the second season to reprise their roles.

What To Expect From Season 2

In the series’ finale of the first season, Max and Noah (Karan Oberoi) had a showdown. And although Max beat down his opponent, he still died after sacrificing his life in order to bring back Rosa, Liz’s sister, whose burned body has been preserved in an alien pod for many years. Max lost his life, but according to showrunner Carina Adly MacKenzie, he will still be in Season 2.

The showrunner hinted that the alien (Max) will be raised from the dead. However, there will be consequences for resurrecting him. There was no mention as to what could possibly happen when he returns, but the belief is that he will be more powerful as he discovered some special abilities when he saved Rosa.
