As Latin Times looks back on the life and career of the great actor/comedian Robin Williams, it is noteworthy to mention that he was a huge baseball fan. Williams, who was a northern California resident, was an avid San Francisco Giants fan who could often be found in attendance for home games during the Giants World Series runs in 2010 and 2012.

Williams was known for his incredible human spirit, relentless energy and undeniable humor. He brought laughter and smiles to whomever he met and his death will be mourned by all of his loyal fans and friends for many years to come. We remember Williams and his one of a kind personality in this hilarious video during a San Francisco Giants playoff game in 2010. The Giant’s public relations team asked Williams who lived nearby to pump up the crowd before the game at AT&T Park.

It was game 1 of the NLDS against the Atlanta Braves and Williams introduced the team and rallied the crowd as only he can: with energy and humor. Make sure to watch the end of the video where Williams dances and jumps around with the Giants mascot Lou Seal. The Giants went on to win the game 1-0.

Williams mentioned baseball in his stand up routine and has an incredible bit about baseball and cocaine that can be seen on his 1986 A "Night At The Met" comedy special.

Williams was found dead on Monday morning in his Marin County home by his wife, Susan. Williams was 63 years old and will be missed greatly.
