Singer, actress and former Disney Channel star Selena Gomez will be performing during the halftime show between the Dallas Cowboys and the Oakland Raiders on Thanksgiving Day. The Cowboys will host the Oakland Raiders on Thanksgiving, Gomez a Dallas native was invited to sing during the halftime show by the Salvation Army as part of their 123rd Red Kettle Campaign. The Dallas Cowboys first teamed up with the Salvation Army in 1997 as part of the Red Kettle Campaign, which is the longest running fundraiser in history. The charity has raised billions of dollars to help feed and clothe families in need.

"Dallas is my hometown, and to be invited to perform on behalf of the Salvation Army is such a great honor," Gomez said. "Giving back is so important, and I'm looking forward to kicking off the iconic Red Kettle Campaign and getting those bells ringing across the nation to help families and children in need." On the Cowboys' website the executive vice president of the team, Charlotte Jones Anderson said the organization is excited to have her as a part of the event.

"We are thrilled to have Selena kick off the Red Kettle Campaign and be a part of this time-honored tradition. Her amazing performance, a national stage and huge fan base will be a powerful start to Red Kettle 2013," Anderson said. "The Salvation Army touches so many lives and provides nourishment, shelter and support for children and families in need. Together with Selena, we celebrate the important impact of The Salvation Army's work in doing the most good." Only 21-years-old Selena Gomez has released four studio albums and is a double platinum recording artist.

The "Come and get it," singer teased a couple of details about her performance on Thanksgiving. "You should expect something new with a twist of old," Gomez said. "We had to make it special for my hometown." Fans looking to join Selena Gomez's fundraising team can do so by heading to onlineredkettle.org/selenagomez. Eight fans and fundraisers will be chosen to meet Gomez and have a google hangout session. The Dallas Cowboys take on the Oakland Raider at 4:30pm ET on November 28.
