Selena Quintanilla has without a doubt influenced the Latin community and beyond with her status as the "Queen of Tejano Music." After her life was cut drastically short, her husband Chris Perez crafted a memoir "To Selena, With Love" about his love for the star. Now it is being reported that the memoir is being adapted to a television series.

According to Deadline, Endemol Shine North America and Major TV have optioned the television rights to Chris Perez’s book To Selena With Love, which tells the story of the late Latin music superstar through the eyes of her husband.

“Selena is one of the most influential Latin artists of all time, and her legacy continues to live on long after her tragic death,” said Cris Abrego, CEO of Endemol Shine North America and chairman of Endemol Shine Americas. “Chris Perez’s beautiful book To Selena With Love captured their amazing life together and will make for the perfect foundation for a TV series that our team is currently developing for both English and Spanish audiences worldwide.”

"To Selena, With Love," which was published in 2012, gave readers insight into the personal life of Perez and the late Tejano singer. Revealing rare photos and private memories with the star, readers were able to dive into the world of Selena that most people didn't get the opportunity to experience.

“I spent several years keeping the memories of my late wife bottled up inside,” Perez said in a statement. “To Selena with Love allowed me to finally embrace my experience and understand the void it could fill in the hearts of so many others. I am now ready to take the important step of being fully transparent and bringing my everlasting relationship to life on the screen.”

The site reports that Endemol Shine North America and Major TV is set to produce with Blue Mariachi, Perez and Carlito Miranda’s production company. Major TV is led by Raymond Garcia, formerly publisher and founder of Celebra at Penguin Random House, where he’s worked with Perez.
