Milan, 9, and Sasha, 7, are Shakira's sons, and they both share the gift of music with their mom.

Shakira's sons perform with her in the music video for her brand-new song, "Acrostico," which was made public on Monday.

The award-winning singer uploaded the song's music video to Instagram along with a caption that was translated from Spanish to English.

She said that Sasha and Milan asked her to take part in the music video for "Acrostico," which was dedicated to them.

"This year Milan has written songs that brought me to tears of emotion and Sasha has dedicated hours on the piano, discovering his voice," Shakira said.

"They both spent time by my side in the studio and upon hearing this song dedicated to them they have asked me to take part."

"They have felt it and performed it by themselves for themselves, with the passion and feeling the music carries within them," she added. "Milan and Sasha, it's so beautiful to see you spread your wings to start realizing your dreams! There is nothing that makes me feel more complete than being your mom."

Shakira sings about the love she has for her two sons in the song, Good Morning America reported.

In the lyrics, which were translated from Spanish to English, Shakira begins by singing, "You've shown me that love isn't a scam and when it's real it never ends."

She goes on to sing, "All I want is your happiness and to be with you/ Your smile is my weakness/ Loving you serves as an anesthetic to the pain/ it makes me feel better/ I'm here for whatever you need and you came to complete what I am."

Gerard Picqué, a former football player, and Shakira are co-parents of her two boys. The former pair first connected while filming the singer's 2010 music video "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" on location. In June 2022, they made their separation public.

Shakira and Picqué agreed on who would have custody of their kids in November 2022.

In September 2022, Shakira spoke candidly to Elle about her "tough split" from Picqué, stating that it was "tough not only for me, but also for my kids."

Her "number one mission in life" was to keep her children safe, she said.
