Three adults and three children under the age of 18 were killed after a group of "gunmen" entered a soccer field in central Mexico Sunday May 14.

According to officials, others were wounded under the attack, but nearby residents who witnessed did not share specific details to law enforcement.

Police chief Alejandro Rosales said the attack happened in a town of Atotonilco de Tula, just north of Mexico City.

It is said the killing may be related to a dispute between locals and people from neighboring State of Mexico, which surrounds the capital.

A similar attack happened in Morelos, south of the capital, where gunmen also entered a soccer field, killing a former mayor of the town of Yecepixtla.
