Sofia Vergara Launching New Shapewear Line

Sofia Vergara will be launching a collection of shapewear exclusively for Kmart.

The "Modern Family" actress currently has a line of clothes, jewelry, handbags, shoes and home goods retailing exclusively at Kmart.

"We think Sofia has a great way about her. She's beautiful. She has a specific style and she truly represents the modern woman," said John Goodman, executive vice president of apparel and home for Sears Holdings Corp., during the original launch of her line in 2011.

"This has been a great adventure starting with clothing and accessories, fine jewelry and watches, and most recently hosiery and underwear. Now with shapewear, we have covered most of the stuff I've wanted to do," said Vergara.

According to Women's Wear Daily, her shapewear line will release in June ranging from $14.99 to $23.99. The line will have nine-pieces -- toning bodysuits, camis, tanks, bustiers, waist-shaping briefs and boyshorts, thigh slimmers, and half and full-slips -- and cater to the "soccer mom" demographic. But given the Latina's reputation for being glamorous and her enviable hourglass figure, we have a feeling that their demographic will include women of all backgrounds.

"Usually, when I go to an event I wear shapewear....It's not to hold anything in, but to smooth everything out....But I do have to wear a bra with everything," says Vergara.

"Shapewear has always been a part of a woman's wardrobe, but I wanted it to look cute, not like a horrible girdle," adds the actress. "It's for the everyday woman who wants to look good without spending a lot of money on shapewear, earrings or high heels that make her look cute and sexy."

Her new shapewear line will reportedly come in various sizes and colors. Items with built-in bras will have cup-sizes ranging from 36C to 38DD and 40D, and other items will have sizes ranging from M to 2X. All the items in the line will have a variety of colors including black and coffee brown, and black and red.
