Joshua Brossard a 17-year-old sophomore at Spring High School in Spring, Texas was killed Wednesday morning after being stabbed in his school's cafeteria. Three other students were injured during the fight. Authorities say the reason for the cafeteria battle has not yet been discovered. What is known is that three other students in addition to Brossard were injured. Broussard's father and Aunt confirmed he was the student that was killed to their local news station, KHOU. Three students believed to be involved with the school fight have been taken into custody.

One of the 16-year-old victims has been hospitalized at Memorial Hermann Hospital after sustaining injuries in the stabbing. The teen was originally listed as critical but the Daily News is reporting the boy's pastor has announced his condition has begun to improve. Harris country sheriff Adrian Garcia held a press conference after the stabbing. Garcia described the fight between the students as having broken out over "a confrontation of some sort." The sheriff also said the fight led to the use of "sharp weapons."

Investigators have not yet found the weapons Harris said at the press conference. "We have not recovered those weapons so we are still conducting that aspect of the investigation. The students in custody have only been identified as "persons of interest in the case," but there have been reports that no other suspects are being looked into. Harris told the media it is possible the stabbings were gang related. Spring High School was placed on lockdown following the 7:10am stabbing. Parents arrived at the school but students were not released until after 12pm.
