UK television personality Stephen Bear could be imprisoned in Turkey for his sexually explicit video clip, which made the rounds on Twitter over the weekend. Bear triggered a furore online after sharing a 14-second footage of girlfriend Jessica Lily Smith performing an oral sex act on him in the shower.

Social media users who follow the former "Celebrity Big Brother" winner were aghast at the disturbing X-rated nature of the video, and more so because Twitter hadn't taken it down yet. The pinned tweet was captioned as “Showers hit different abroad”.

The video—amassed over 100 million views overnight and 1,200 retweets—was filmed in Turkey, where the 31-year-old and his 22-year-old girlfriend are currently holidaying. As per the country’s stringent internet rules, Bear could face up to four years of prison on the grounds of making an “unnatural sex” video, and three years for sharing it on social media.

According to The Sun, in April 2015, Turkey’s Constitutional Court reportedly deemed it illegal for the production, ownership or distribution of pornographic materials containing “unnatural sexual behavior”. Oral, anal, group, gay and lesbian sexual encounters fall under the ambit of “unnatural sex”.

Surprisingly unperturbed by the controversy that he and Smith are currently embroiled in, Bear claimed that the backlash has worked in his favor, with the clip having helped him rake in $1 million in 12 hours. He further averred that despite the hate on Twitter, followers were allegedly thronging to paid adult entertainment site AVN Entertainment to watch similar content, News.com.au reported.

Smith seemed to be supportive of Bear’s cringe-worthy act, and opined that users slamming them had to be more worried about their sex lives than commenting on theirs. In the same tweet, she maintained that she loved Bear with all her heart.

Bear made inroads into the adult entertainment industry with appearances on websites like OnlyFans after his career in showbiz didn’t take it off as expected. Fans who follow the star observed a pattern. He also faces an upcoming trial next year for voyeurism and revenge porn claims. Bear was accused of having filmed a sexual encounter with a woman and sharing the clip without her consent. He has however denied the allegations.
