Super Smash Bros
Mario placing a ring on Princess Peach's finger. Super Smash Bros.

An interesting screenshot has shown up on the official Smash Bros website. The new image that graces the front page of the home screen shows what appears to be Mario placing a ring on Princess Peach's finger. Could the love birds be engaged? If you're going off the image alone then yes, it would appear the two are engaged however series director, Masahiro Sakurai, teased a bit of news that could contradict what the image represents.

According to IGN Sakurai posted the words "Who is the ring for?" on Miiverse, intentionally adding ambiguity to the new screenshot. The website also points out that if you take a closer look at the picture the ring is on the wrong finger of Peach's left hand. That would be if the Mushroom Kingdom and the entire "Super Smash Bros." universe follow marital traditions as those of the real world.

In other news Princess Peach was the latest playable character revealed for the next installment of the Smash Bros. series. This brings the total playable character count to 15 characters with favorites like Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Samus and Pikachu. There are a couple of new faces you might recognize like the Wii Fit Trainer, Villager from "Animal Crossing" and the legendary Mega Man.

The new title was announced at Nintendo's E3 presentation this past June. The company didn't give a specific release date but announced the game would be coming Holiday 2014.
