Sidney's New Year's Eve fireworks show is the main attraction in this beautiful city at this time of the year. Millions of people around the world turn up to watch the most spectacular firework show over Sydney’s Harbour Bridge and in front of the Sydney Opera House.

For this occasion, authorities promise the show will be better than ever. Inhabitants and visitors will see more than seven tons of pyrotechnics lit at midnight.

According to IBT UK, “Fireworks will be lit from seven barges and from the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge during the 12-minute display.”

The event will be live streamed on this page, ABC iView and the ABC TV Facebook page from 8.35pm AEDT. Highlights include the Acknowledgement of Country, 9pm family fireworks and midnight fireworks. Harbour of Light Parade

Sydney Harbour is illuminated with ships gliding across the water, enchanting spectators of all ages. Each vessel is decorated with cool white ropelight, dazzling the crowds and adding to the unique choreography as they dance in the harbour.
