Taylor Swift and Katy Perry’s feud used to be one of the most talked about in pop music history. That is why when Perry appeared in Swift’s new “You Need To Calm Down” video, many could not help but question how Perry made it to the clip.

Is their feud over? Are they friends again? How did they reach a truce? Earlier this week, Swift dropped all the details about their reconciliation.

Swift and Perry first became friends in 2008. However, when Perry hooked up with Swift’s ex-boyfriend John Mayer in 2012, that was when one of the biggest feuds in the industry erupted.

In 2014, Swift revealed that her song “Bad Blood” was about her rift with another female musician, and fans were so certain that it was Perry. “For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not,” Swift said.

She also revealed that the anonymous singer did something so horrible to her that it became too easy for her to label her as an enemy. In 2017, Perry collaborated with Nicki Minaj for “Swish Swish,” which many believed was aiming at Swift.

Speaking on the U.K. radio show “Heart Breakfast” on Wednesday, Swift revealed that it was Perry who made the first move in their reconciliation. According to her, the singer sent her an actual olive branch on the first night of her “Reputation” stadium tour last year, and that’s when she knew that their feud was over.

“It was like a beautiful like, a wreath, and you could like hang it,” Swift said. “It was really-it was so great. And so that was when, you know I think for both of us, it was completely like, there were no weird feelings, everything was on good terms,” she added.

Following Perry’s sweet gesture, she and Swift ran into each other at a party and instantly hugged each other. It was like the ending scene of the “You Need To Calm Down” video, where they also shared an emotional hug.

“Then we saw each other at a party and walked up to each other and hugged it out and talked about things, and then we saw each other again and hung out at another party and it was just like something felt so much lighter about my life when things became really good between us,” she recounted.

Swift revealed that she and Perry are not only on good terms right now but that they are back to being good friends. It was their choice to reconnect privately without the world knowing.

According to Swift, she wanted to make sure everything was really good between them before they let the world know their feud was finally over. “It was really wonderful to get to sort of unveil it to the world in like a cheeky sort of fun way,” she said.
