A teen from Dallas has been arrested on Friday, Nov. 26, after allegedly murdering his mother, before taking her two-year-old grandchild and dropping the child off at their great-grandparents’ house.

The teen, a 15-year-old boy whose name has not been made public as of press time, was reportedly with his mother Aime Salinas-Alvarado when he decided to shoot and kill her inside her own home, before using her car to drive her 2-year-old grandchild to their great-grandparents’ house, the New York Post reported.

The great-grandparents, who discovered the child on their doorstep, proceeded to call the police and asked for a welfare check for Salinas-Alvarado, as she was supposed to be taking care of the grandchild.

Their concern for the Salinas-Alvarado matriarch prompted law enforcement to come to her home, where officers found her dead with a single gunshot wound in the head, with her car stolen and no clear idea as to who had killed her, according to NBC DFW.

Furthering their investigation, the police concluded that her missing 15-year-old son might’ve been the culprit in her death and started searching for him and for the slain mother’s car so that they could take him into custody for questioning about what had happened.

He was subsequently found in his friend’s home, where he was arrested without incident. He later provided a full confession to the authorities of what he did to his mother, and officers have decided to charge him with the murder of his mother, according to CBS DFW.

The boy’s motives are unclear as of the moment, as police officers are still investigating what could have caused her teenage son to shoot his mother in the head, as well as where the weapon the boy used came from in the first place.

The boy is currently staying in Henry Wade Juvenile Detention Facility with no bail pending a court date.
