Just when Tiger Woods' chaotic life appeared to have calmed down and he was a content family man with a lifelong partner and his two children, his world is about to be publicly flipped upside down once more.

According to court papers filed in Martin County, Florida, Woods' six-year girlfriend Erica Herman is suing the 47-year-old golfing legend to overturn a nondisclosure agreement he forced her to sign at the start of their relationship.

Herman argues that the Speak Out Act, which grants an exception in circumstances where there is proof of sexual attack or harassment, should take precedence over the NDA.

Even though Woods has not been accused of or shown to have engaged in sexual assault or harassment, given his questionable past, this triggers alarm bells about whether they are justified or not.

Of course, Woods' marriage to Elin Nordegren, the mother of his two children Sam and Charlie, was destroyed in 2009 as a result of a very public cheating affair.

He was said to have had relationships with a variety of women, some of whom made the juicy details of their liaisons public and earned money for paid appearances and talks about Woods.

This is undoubtedly the reason Woods demanded that Herman sign the NDA; he wanted to shield himself from any potential tell-all scenarios in the event that their relationship ever turned sour.

However, it doesn't seem that infidelity is the cause of Woods' most recent marital mishap.

It seems to be related to money.

Herman claims that she was kicked out of the home that she and Woods shared.

Herman had woven himself into the fabric of Woods' existence; he was almost always present when he competed in tournaments and frequently hung out with his kids.

She was frequently seen watching the kids play sports.

She appeared to have a significant impact on Woods, who became a much more sensible and modest person as a result.

In his press conferences, Woods displayed a happier and more satisfied demeanor than he had prior to settling down with Herman.

Herman, too, was different from some of the women Woods had previously dated in that she wasn't showy or well-known, like professional skier Lindsey Vonn.

Herman seemed like the lady next door and was very close with Woods' kids.

I'll never forget seeing Herman gathered at a corner table in the clubhouse at Augusta National in 2019 as Woods was about to win the Masters with Woods' mother, Tida, Sam, and Charlie, reports New York Post.

She tensed uncomfortably as she watched Woods attempt to win the 15th major title of his career while Herman cooed over the children who were agitatedly ripping through candy and scattering wrappers everywhere.

This is not where the Woods-Herman relationship looked to be going, at least based on what we witnessed in public.

Although she was not spotted with him at his last three golf events—the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, the PNC Championship, and the Genesis Invitational last month—news of this court petition by Herman surprised a lot of people in the sport of golf.

This breakup is additional proof that no one can ever truly be known for what happens in their lives behind closed doors, even those you may believe you know based on what you see in public.
