Although the veteran died shortly after he was announced as grand marshal, he was not replaced and organizers have dedicated a floar to honor his legacy and challenges he overcame. Leading the grand marshal's car will be a white steed with no rider and boots on backward in the stirrups. The colurful spectacle will air on Univision, ABC, NBC, Hallmark Channel and HGTV starting at 11am ET/8am PT.

Latinos will be part of the parade with Banda Musical Delfines, straight from Veracruz, México. The marching band that was formed in 1999 is back to promote the Mexican culture and folkore. They have attended international competitions around the world including the Festival of the Burning of the Sardine in Murcia and performed for Pope Benedict XVI at the Vatican. The Martinez Family is also back for a 33rd year dressed in costumes including wide brim hats and authentic charro suits that call back to the 1800s era in México. Their horses come from various breeds including, Aztecas, Andalusians, Fresians and American Quarter Horses. Other floats include one dedicated to "The Bachelor," the City of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Fire Department, China Airlines, Dole Packaged Foods and more.
