We can't remember how long it's been since Toyota's bestselling compact car last received a major redesign. To put things in perspective, the standard automatic transmission within the Toyota Corolla still offers only 4-speeds. Currently one of the most boring, dated, and least interesting products currently available on the market, Toyota has finally announced that the next-generation Corolla is expected to hit the market next year.
According to Toyota, the next Corolla is set to be so innovative and moldbreaking that it stands to generate an even more dramatic statement than when the brand-new Avalon first unveiled.
To date, the Toyota Corolla remains the best-selling vehicle Toyota has ever made and it currently still ranks as the second best-selling Toyota product in the U.S. even after years of ungainly aging. Deliveries during June 2012 were up 11 percent over the same period in 2011. What's more, the Corolla even outsold the Civic by 10,000 last year.
Specific details on the next Corolla is limited but Toyota promises drastic changes and updates for its future compact? What exactly does that mean?
