Trump's nominee to lead the IRS came under fire after it was revealed he followed several adult content creators on X. X

The Trump administration blamed "unauthorized access" after its nominee to lead the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), former Rep. Billy Long, was found following multiple adult content creators on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The former Missouri lawmaker has been active on X since 2009 and follows more than 8,000 accounts. While the Trump administration declined to provide Rolling Stone with a full list of the accounts Long follows, his most recent 50 follows include several "stealth" adult content creators; most of whom are pregnant.

Long follows an X account that shared just one post of a "MILF" engaging in a sexual act. Another account posted multiple nude videos and pictures of expecting women. A third X profile had two posts, one of which was a repost from SpicyMoms2, another adult content creator.

The 69-year-old former congressman's social media activity has been especially shocking given his history of campaigning as a staunch pro-life candidate. It also appears at odds with the Republican Party's broader agenda, outlined in the Project 2025 playbook, which includes efforts to ban pornography and criminalize its creation and distribution.

A senior transition official with the Trump administration told Rolling Stone Long's account was hacked.

"This is absolute bulls*** and not something the congressman would ever do," the official said, per Rolling Stone. "Clearly there has been unauthorized access to the account in the 11th hour before his hearing, and we are currently investigating the matter, including reporting it to X." Long has since unfollowed multiple accounts.

Even beyond his social media activity, Long remains a controversial choice to lead the IRS. President Trump has repeatedly stated his intent to use the agency to target political adversaries, including universities, nonprofits, and even churches.

The IRS also plays a key role in enforcing tax laws on adult content creators, a responsibility that has drawn added scrutiny given Long's online activity.

Long has previously promoted himself as a tax professional, a claim that has been widely described as "dubious," according to Rolling Stone. Additionally, some senators have raised concerns about corporate donations Long received after his nomination, which were reportedly used to pay off residual campaign debt.
