Trump Called Out for 'Dumbest' Climate Change Theory After It Didn't Rain on His Parade: 'Not Hard When NWS is Gutted'

President Donald Trump was criticized for sharing the "dumbest" climate change theory after it did not rain on his parade.

Before departing for the G7 summit in Canada on Sunday, Trump took a press opportunity to praise Saturday's military parade, held to mark the Army's 250th anniversary, and, according to him, definitely not his birthday. Much of his commentary, however, focused on complaints about the weather.

"It was supposed to rain. They gave it a 100% chance of rain and it didn't rain at all," Trump stated, adding that "it was beautiful."

"So I asked, if they gave it 100% chance, right, 100% it was going to rain like crazy and it didn't rain at all, how did they predict 100 years out and 50 years or 200 years out?" he challenged, alluding to weather predictions that support climate change theory.

Trump added that the "weather people" did not do too well, "but it was beautiful."

The internet quickly criticized the president for blaming "the weather people," despite his administration having cut the budget of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), resulting in the firing of more than 600 staff, including personnel from the National Weather Service (NWS), in February.

As a result, the NWS warned that some of its field offices were no longer staffed around the clock. The agency was also forced to cut back on weather balloon launches that gather data for local and national forecasts, NPR reported.

"Maybe if he hadn't fired so many people at NOAA/NWS, the prediction would have been more accurate," one X user wrote.

"Well, it's not hard when the NWS is gutted. He's such a fool..." a third X user lamented.

"He fired everyone at NOAA and now he's complaining about the forecast," a fifth commented.

"My god do we really live in the dumbest of timelines. America, god save you. This man is a moron and you gave him the nuclear codes. Twice," another added.

Trump's parade coincided with thousands of nationwide "No Kings" protests attended by millions of Americans. The president insisted, however, that it was a "tremendous success."
