A college football coach's young daughter was recently killed in the disastrous flooding that occurred in Texas, the university confirmed.
Wade Lytal, an offensive coordinator working at Trinity University, lost his 8-year-old daughter in the catastrophic Texas flooding that claimed over 100 lives, reported The US Sun.
Kellyanne Lytal had been missing after the Guadalupe River flooded last week. She had been attending Camp Mystic in Hunt, Texas, and was among the 27 campers and counselors who lost their lives in the flooding.
"She was kind, fearless, silly, compassionate, and a loving friend to everyone," said a statement released by the Lytal family paying tribute to Kellyanne. "Even though she was taken from us way too early, we thank God for the eight magical years we got to share with her."
"Our family wants to thank everyone for their prayers and support during this difficult time," the statement continued. "We are forever grateful for the men and women who are assisting in the Search and Rescue efforts."
Trinity University also took to social media to release a statement in support of the Lytal family.
"Our entire community grieves with the Lytal family, to whom we extend our deepest sympathies and unwavering support," they wrote. "We know this loss will be felt across our campus and beyond."
Coach Wade Lytal made a plea for prayers and support last week as they searched for Kellyanne, who had been missing after the flooding.
"Asking for all prayers for a miracle for my baby girl Kellyanne," he wrote. "She is still one of the Mystic Campers who is unaccounted for. I'll never forget when she told me she had a lead solo in the Christmas Pageant. She is absolutely fearless."
