President Donald Trump slammed Dmitry Medvedev, a former Russian President and top aide of Vladimir Putin, for saying there are countries willing to give Iran nuclear weapons following the U.S. attack on the country's nuclear facilities.
In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump wondered if Medvedev "really say that" or if it was a "figment" of his imagination. "If he did say that, and, if confirmed, please let me know, IMMEDIATELY. The "N word" should not be treated so casually. I guess that's why Putin's "THE BOSS," Trump added.
"By the way, if anyone thinks our "hardware" was great over the weekend, far and away the strongest and best equipment we have, 20 years advanced over the pack, is our Nuclear Submarines. They are the most powerful and lethal weapons ever built, and just launched the 30 Tomahawks — All 30 hit their mark perfectly. So, in addition to our Great Fighter Pilots, thank you to the Captain and Crew!"
Medvedev said on Sunday that countries were willing to give Iran nuclear weapons following U.S. strikes on three nuclear sites in Iran. Medvedev, who ruled Russia between 2008 and 2012, didn't specify which countries he was referring to.
Russian President Vladimir Putin did not echo the claims when making statements of his own, but he did call U.S. attacks "unjustified" and said they pushed the world towards greater danger. He also vowed to help the people of Iran but did not specify how.
Putin met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in the Kremlin, telling him the "absolutely unprovoked aggression against Iran has no basis and no justification."
