Tension is part of everyday living and is even present in the most loving and stable of relationships. However, the tension present in Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez’s relationship may be too much for the power couple to handle, if a recent report is to be believed.

Fox News reported that “trouble may be brewing” in Lopez and Rodriguez’s relationship. But instead of the usual third party causing all the trouble, it’s the tension created when their personalities clash that just might do them in.

“Friends have seen them argue frequently,” a source told the media outfit. “There’s a lot of passion in their relationship, which helps and hurts the pair — especially when their personalities clash because you just know a blowup is about to ensue.”

And, according to the unnamed source, it just might be keeping them from taking the next step of their relationship. “As much as their friends love seeing Alex and J.Lo together as royalty, there is great fear that the tension between them may prevent them from ever making it down the aisle,” the sourced added.

A tipping point might have been reached when Rodriguez did an interview with Sports Illustrated. “We had a great table,” the professional baseball player told the magazine of their 2019 Met Gala seating arrangement.

“The black guy from The Wire — Idris Elba, yeah, and his new wife. Some famous singer next to me, I don’t know what her name is,” Rodriguez joked while obviously referring to Lopez. “Versace — Donatella. We had Kylie and Kendall. And we had an Asian gentleman from Rich Asians, the lead. Kylie was talking about Instagram and her lipstick, and how rich she is.”

But Rodriguez’s statements did upset his girlfriend, who didn’t like his comments about Jenner. “J.Lo basically told him that she doesn’t care what he says during his interviews as long as it doesn’t encroach on their family or her personal and professional relationships — and when Alex said what he said about Kylie, J.Lo felt he crossed the line,” the source added.

However, fact-checking site Gossip Cop wrote that the rumors of tension between Lopez and Rodrigues are “completely false.” The site got in touch with a source close to the couple, who confirmed that the two “are better than ever.”
